Reconstitution & Storage
Peptide Handling Guidelines – Vertex Biolabs
To maintain product integrity and maximise stability, all peptides should be handled and stored correctly.
Lyophilised (Powder) Form
Peptides supplied in lyophilised (freeze-dried) form should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. A stable, shaded room temperature environment is generally sufficient prior to reconstitution.
Reconstitution
When reconstituting peptides with bacteriostatic water:
- Ensure the solution is at room temperature before use
- Introduce the liquid slowly down the inside of the vial
- Do not shake vigorously
- Gently swirl the vial to aid dissolution and preserve peptide structure
Storage After Reconstitution
Once reconstituted:
- Store in a refrigerator (2–8°C)
- Do not freeze, as this may damage the peptide
- Avoid repeated temperature fluctuations (heating and cooling cycles), which can accelerate degradation
Shelf Life
Peptides do not have a fixed expiry once reconstituted; however, potency will gradually decrease over time.
As a general guideline:
- Best used within 28–56 days, depending on the specific peptide and its stability profile
